Bout of Books 22 – Day 3

Today’s challenge is Show Me Your Precious … Book, that is!

Everyone has a book that they love; now is your time to bring out your precious and shine. Share your favorite book (in whatever format you choose)! You know the one that has that beautifully illustrated map, or gorgeous writing, or whatever it is that draws you to it. Share with the world what makes that book your precious!

Thanks to Minx (@thegenreminx) for today’s challenge.

I have 4 full sets of this book series, and working on the 5th (the illustrated editions). But I would have to say that this set is the one I’d pick, and this set over all the books on my shelves as the most precious! It is such a timeless story that can be enjoyed by any age, and it’s long enough, and full enough, to hold attention span. And THIS set is absolutely freaking gorgeous!! So yeah. LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Bout of Books 22 – Day 2

Bout of Books Day 2 – Today’s Challenge:

Year of You

Share a book that was published the year you were born. If you don’t wish to disclose your age (that’s fine; you’ll get no judgment either way here), pick a book that was significant to your childhood.

Thanks to Courtney Lynn (@ceelynnreading) for today’s challenge!

Pet Sematary by Stephen King was originally published in 1983 (this is a cover of the kindle book). I have never read this, but I did watch the movie…and I was YOUNG. I don’t find this movie very scary, but for the little boy, after he comes back. In the movie, he just has… *this laugh* …. and my mom has tortured me with it all my life!! lol Hence, I will probably never read the book.

#ReadThemAllThon (ie. Pokemon Readathon) TBR

So…I don’t really know much about Pokemon. Like, at all. But I do like to play Pokemon GO, which is why this readathon peeked my interest! And it sounds fun with all the points, so I might as well try it out.

readthemallthon.jpg

So, this readathon is hosted by Read at Midnight, and starts Monday, August 14th, and runs for 3 weeks…and since Bout of Books 17 *also* is in the middle of it (and we do not have a challenge list for that yet)…this TBR is tentative, for right now. I am attempting to double up all my requirements, making books do double (and possibly triple?!) duty. I have 2 books I have to read this month, and I got them both to work for this readathon. If I can, I will try and get them to work for BoB as well, if I don’t read them before that…which I am going to try to do.

ANYWAYS. Let’s get to the TBR.

Also, the pokemon I am picking is:

A-Z Book Challenge

I watched Sam’s video over at Cold Tea and Crumbs, and she did this challenge as more of a TBR type of thing, but mentioned that others could do it the same, or as a tag, etc. So I decided I’d do it, just for fun! I think I can get all the letters…though X maybe pretty difficult.

Here’s my plan: first, attempt to fulfill each letter by the first letter in a title, or start of any word in a title, then by author name. In the instance that these cannot be achieved, I’ll go on to finding that letter anywhere. I will also start with books on my read shelf, and then move onto my unread shelves.

Okay, here we go!

A – The Austere Academy, by Lemony Snicket
B – Black Ice, by Becca Fitzpatrick
C – Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins
D – The Duff, by Kody Keplinger
E – The Ersatz Elevator, by Lemony Snicket
F – The Five People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom
G – The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins
H – The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
I – If I Stay, by Gayle Forman
J – Janie Face to Face, by Caroline B. Cooney
K – The Keep, by Jennifer Egan
L – Leap of Faith, by Jamie Blair
M – Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins
N – Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry
O – Obisidian, by Jennifer Armentrout
P – P.S. I Still Love You, by Jenny Han
Q – The Silver Linings Playbook, by Matthew Quick
R – Rose Madder, by Stephen King
S – The Start of Me and You, by Emery Lord
T – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, by Jenny Han
U – Under the Never Sky, by Veronica Rossi
V – The Voice on the Radio, by Caroline B. Cooney
W – We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart
X – The Darkest Minds, by Alexandra Bracken
Y – The Year of the Rat, by Clare Furniss
Z – Girl Online, by Zoe Sugg

I *almost* got them all done by books I read, AND with the first letter of the title, only 4 did not fit that category! One I did with the title, but haven’t read (U), the rest were done by Author names (Q/Z), one of those with the letter being mid-name (X). This was fun though!

So today’s challenge is hosted by Rocky Top Real Talk, and it’s something I’ve wanted to do for awhile, so I’m excited!! I’m trying to get it into video form as well…so hoping I can figure that out before the challenge day is over (meh, not this time…maybe I’ll do it again, in the future, some time). The challenge is to do…. BOOK MASH!! They left it pretty open ended so that you can choose what categories you want and all that. Actually, looking back at the challenge description, it’s just general mash…but I’m totally doing it bookish-ly. 😛
