Title: Long Black Veil
Author: Jennifer Finney Boylen
Release Date: April 11, 2017
Pages: 320 pages
My Rating: n/a (DNF)
Synopsis: This is supposed to be about a group of kids who spent the night in an old abandoned prison, while one of them go missing, and how they are dealing with the affects, years later, after the missing one is finally found.
My Thoughts: I only got to page 48. I found myself skimming words to get to the action. It flip flops between the time periods, and I really just wanted to find out what happened in the penitentiary….which the story seemed to be dragging with lots of words, and talk of things that didn’t seem relevant. I do not think the writing style was for me, at all. I ended up reading reviews and found out who the missing person was, but didn’t care enough to even find out what happened from it. Sadly DNFing this book. I was looking forward to more of a thriller, which this book is not.
I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
