Title: The Lauras
Author: Sara Taylor
Release Date: August 1, 2017
My Rating: 2.5 stars
Synopsis: A teenager is woken by a mother in the middle of the night, and they set off on a trek across the country. Alex’s mother takes them to places across the States from her past seeing old friends, finishing old business, and fulfilling old promises.
My thoughts: Meh. I liked the road trip aspect of this story, but I don’t like the not knowing anything…the who, the where, the why. I don’t really understand why the title is The Lauras. I feel like the story is about most everything else, with just mentions of multiple people who all happen to be named Laura, or even not. Some were important, some not as much…still not any really mentioned enough to warrant the title of the book, I don’t think. *shrugs* I don’t know, wasn’t thrilled with it anyways, I’m not sure why. I don’t like the non-gender thing…you’re a boy or a girl, pretty simple. But the writing was a very easy flow and engaging to read.
I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
